Is that why the California wine region “Russian River” has its name?

I grew up there, and I’m ashamed to say it probably wasn’t until I was in middle school that I realized people weren’t just referring to it as “the rushin(g) river.” I had even been to Fort Ross multiple times on school field trips and family trips, but I guess I never put 2 and 2 together.’

About 60% of the Chinese population was under Japanese Occupation in Late 1944 I Think. So Japan should have either the Second or Third largest Population in the world. (Britain is still the largest since they have India). I estimate about 350 Million’

I’d have perhaps given the Mongols more push over Europe and included India, but I suppose he had to work with the tools of the time … ou can kinda see India if you follow from the Mongols through Chagatai then Temur and his descendents (Mughal dynasty), ending with it saying this area became part of the British empire’
